I started seeing Dr. J in July and approached my seizure medication transition with a great deal of trepidation due to a previous bad experience. Over the course of the next five months, Traci made a tremendous contribution by assisting the doctor in making this transition a non-stressful, positive, and successful experience. During that period, I was seeing Dr. J every 2-3 weeks. Traci consistently welcomed me with a smile and a cheerful greeting. Quickly picking up on my penchant for details, she reported my converted weight, BP, and other numbers to me without my even asking. For the first several appointments my husband came with me and she also warmly welcomed him and even seemed to enjoy his sense of humor (now that's the sign of a good nurse!). After my first appointment, I said to my husband, "She almost seems too kind." His response, "A nurse can never be too kind."
With the first medication we tried, I hit a snag. I developed an itching allergic rash all over my body and was extremely groggy. My husband drove me to the clinic, even though we knew the doctor wasn't in on Fridays. The receptionist called Traci, who immediately came up from another floor. This time she met me with compassion and genuine concern. She efficiently took my vitals, asked me thorough questions about my symptoms and assured me that she would contact the doctor immediately and get back to me. I wasn't home more than five mutes before she called with specific directions from the doctor. Realizing my groggy state of mind, she even asked if I had paper and pencil to write them down and had me repeat them back to her. After the weekend she personally called me back with an appointment time and asked how I was feeling. When I came back a few days later, she expressed how pleased she was that I was looking better and her hope that things would continue to improve.
Traci's caring, encouraging, and positive outlook along with her consistent professionalism definitely made my time at CGH an enjoyable and helpful experience. I strongly feel that she does an exemplary job and is a true DAISY Nurse.
