I found Angie to be very thorough. She came into my Aunt's room with a smile that lit up the room and a soft-spoken voice, but direct to the procedures at hand. Step-by-step Angie addressed my Aunt loud enough. Followed by asking if we had any questions. Her demeanor and work ethic were outstanding, exhibited by an exceptionally high level of respect, encompassing qualities such as kindness, caring, empathy, and most of all compassion. I also witnessed how tidy she kept my Aunt's room.
My Aunt was always clean, and we could see how comfortable my Aunt was resting. More than a few touches that made a world of difference. Angie's bedside manner embodied what I think makes a good nurse. My family and I could tell how much she enjoyed doing her work; she paid attention to every detail. I had the privilege to meet Angie and was most impressed by her strong ethical standards. I could tell she had that extra special something.
It is only natural some of us are guarded when it comes to our loved ones. However, I felt my Aunt was in great care, I knew she was being well taken care of. Angie was her Nurse for two days, which was just wonderful. I really felt that I needed to have her acknowledged for her exceptional work. All nurses could learn a little more about how to care for the sick. Nurses should treat and care for patients as part of their own family, and not just a job. Patients like my Aunt are not here because they want to be, they are ill and want to get better.
There should be more nurses like Angie. This world would be a much better place with them taking care of our loved ones. I will remember her in my prayers. As I am sure others will too, whomever she takes care of past, present, and future. Blessed. Angie represents a Healer's Touch.
