We came on shift to a full load of patients with six new admits and were quickly overwhelmed. I called and asked Anna if she would come in to help us out and she was nice enough to do so, even after having already worked and not being a night shift nurse. Amongst the new patients, she helped with was a patient whom Anna had taken care of the previous week. The patient's health had deteriorated due to having a family member in ICU and spending time at the bedside. Anna was very caring of the patient and asked about the family member's wellbeing. She listened and comforted the patient. After she left the patient told me that Anna "was a lady" and a very caring nurse. He stated that last week while she was his nurse, she took him to the ICU via wheelchair several times to check on his family member. Since I normally work after her, I get a lot of patients who brag about how good of a nurse and how caring she is. She is also always willing to come to help the staff. Wherever there is a gap, Anna is there.

Anna is a true example of an exceptional nurse. She always goes above and beyond for her patients as well as her coworkers. She has stayed late many times to help out and she has even come in on the opposite shift that she normally works when we were in need. She is loved by everyone who comes in contact with her; her outgoing personality and complete honesty in all situations make her a rare find and we are so blessed to have her. She uses her past experiences to help others and relate to them, and this has helped to encourage her patients, as well as her coworkers, like myself. I went through a really hard time recently, and Anna was one of my biggest supporters in and outside of work. She truly is a special person, with the biggest heart that cares for others so well. Anna is absolutely amazing!
