I was in recovery from methadone when I found out I was expecting. Before I even let myself get excited, I had horrible anxiety. I couldn't sleep for weeks because I have 2 other daughters, whom I delivered at different facilities. Both times I was treated so poorly because of the methadone that I didn't even get excited about our 3rd (and final) daughter. When I came into triage Robin asked me about medications and I mumbled methadone. She immediately told me to pick my head up and said I had nothing to be ashamed of. I haven't used a single substance in 3 ½ years. She listened to my story. She told me to let her know if anyone treated me poorly to get in touch with her, day or night. She really meant it too. I felt 100 times better. The first of about a dozen people who went out of their way to help make me more comfortable. When all is said and done, my daughter and I will have spent 7 days here. I can't explain how amazing everyone has been. I will be quick to recommend Sparrow to anyone in recovery.
