My husband was in the hospital for over a week. The first few nights and days were very hard. His condition was worsening and we were very concerned. On Friday we met Racheal, she came in that morning, warm, welcoming, and compassionate. She first asked my husband how she could help, we explained that during the night he had several bathroom urgencies. Immediately Racheal offered a solution, to order a commode. This not only gave my husband his independence back to use the restroom on his own, but it also gave him hope during a very dark stretch in his illness. We looked forward to each day Racheal was here. She explained anything we had questions about. She addressed every need or request my husband or I had. She took the time to educate us on how to clean our home when we return to get rid of the spores that could be lingering. She told my husband every procedure and medication she was doing, and she provided us a list of medications and when they were due. Before Racheal, my husband was having to remember his medicine schedule (he was on 5 medications). Racheal made sure that he had everything he needed and informed the night nurses each night of what he needed or what helped him the best to be comfortable. She is a fantastic nurse, very well educated and you can tell she is very passionate about her job. Without her, I think my husband's spirit would have been crushed and he wouldn't have progressed as he did. Racheal came on shift when we needed her the most and we are so very thankful for her!
