I have worked with Penelope Allong for close to seven years and her desire for caring for people has stood out from the very beginning. She possesses something that cannot be taught, genuine enthusiasm and passion. She inspires others with her positive disposition and creates a calming environment for both staff and patients. She leads by example, motivating others to be their best self and always striving to put patients and families first.
It is evident she values quality and patient safety by her participation in the Quality and Patient Safety Shared Leadership Council and her active participation as a safety coach. Her peers respect her and value her leadership and guidance. She is never too busy to prioritize her own "to do" list for someone else's.
Penelope is consistently recognized by patients and families for going out of her way to ensure their needs are met, regardless of the obstacles she may encounter during the process. Recently, I received a letter from a family that was so impressed by her customer service that the family took the time to notify senior leadership about their outstanding experience. Penelope was also recognized by her colleagues as 2019 Neurology Employee of the Year. Penelope takes care of everyone as if they were family, and we are incredibly lucky to have her in our organization.
