Savannah is the embodiment of what Novant Health strives to be. She works tirelessly to improve the physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing of her patients. She provides remarkable care to every patient, every time. Savannah treats all patients equally and values them as a person, looking beyond their illness. I have witnessed her show compassion as she held the hand of a dying patient and made them feel loved as they took their last breath. I have watched her be there for patients' family members when their loved one has been given a crippling diagnosis and they could not bear the news. Savannah supported them and comforted them in a way only she could.
I have watched her care for patients of every race, religion, and ethnicity. She treats every patient with the same love and respect. I watched her as she washed and cleaned the wounds of a homeless man. He had felt so embarrassed and she made him feel special. She encouraged him and worked with case management to help him after he left the hospital.
Savannah shows personal excellence by continuing her education and her role as a nurse. She is a charge nurse for our unit and is continually seeking ways to better herself and our unit. She works to help other nurses achieve the same level of care for every patient that walks through our doors and is an amazing team member. She shows courage when advocating for her patients' wants and needs. Savannah listens to her patients' concerns and ensures they are addressed. Her natural talents make her a true asset to our team.
Savannah always goes above and beyond for all team members and all patients. She has helped educate many of our coworkers more times than I can count. She is dedicated to the betterment of our unit and our patients. In her role as a charge nurse and preceptor, she excels and her leadership skills flourish. She keeps a calm and respectful demeanor no matter the situation. Savannah is everything that nurses strive to be. Nurses like Savannah are what fuel the spirit of this cooperation. She works to the limit of her capabilities every day to ensure all patients and team members are cared for. I wanted to show her that we all appreciate the remarkable care that she gives each day.
