My wife is 36 and I am 33. This is our first child. When Elisabeth came into our room for the first time, she greeted us with a smile that was from the heart. She took the time to explain what her morning would be like after she asked us what we expected of her. She was extremely prompt when she said she would be back in 5, 10, or 30 min. When she had the time between deliveries she would stop by and talk to my wife and me about what to expect, then the conversation would turn to stories about kids that would help ease my wife's anxiety.
After a long shift, Elisabeth was the first nurse to ensure that we received a bedside report before she left for the night. When returning the next morning she also ensured that we received a bedside report. By this time my wife was starting to have some pretty intense contractions and when we asked for the epidural Elisabeth was beyond supportive. We had our epidural within 45 minutes! So now the most important part.
When my wife was 10cm dilated and ready to start pushing, Elisabeth was right there the entire time. She remembered our birth plan and followed it. She encouraged my wife in the best way and talked her through the process. After 1 ½ hours of pushing we had a son. I know that no matter who our nurse was we would have had our baby. However, it was Elisabeth's professionalism, dedication, and true passion that made the best day of our life a truly magnificent experience. I wish all patients get a nurse as compassionate and caring as her. I will always recommend this hospital because of her!
