Kim had a patient who brought in a pair of generic reader glasses and accidentally threw them away. She assisted in searching the linens, dietary and regular trash and when they couldn't be found, the patient was upset stating they were readers, but she just couldn't afford another pair. After Kim's shift ended, she went and picked up the patient a pair of readers and brought these back to the patient. The patient was very grateful.

I would like to say that Kim has gone above and beyond for a young special needs patient who was needing some extra care and comfort. She used her own money and bought the patient care items, such as shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. She then assisted that patient with a shower and took the extra time to make sure she was comfortable and clean. Her kind words and spirit communicated through the patient and her coworkers. The patient was beyond grateful and smiled ear to ear at her kind words and gestures. She also took the time to listen to the patient's needs and acted on those needs. Her actions that were displayed are actions that any nurse should strive for in their own practices.
