I was so blessed!! During my four day stay, I experienced the most caring, knowledgeable, and respectful doctors, nurses, CNAs, and other support staff. One of the nurses stood out, not only to me but my family. Upon my quick arrival to the Telemetry floor, I was greeted by and met my night RN, Makenzie. Immediately it seemed we had known each other forever. I felt an immediate connection, similar to a family member. Her initial smile and compassion gave me comfort during an uncertain period. During the following hours/days she not only was focused on my physical and emotional condition but also began to be interested in my personal and family life, as I was hers. It began to feel like my daughter or daughter-in-law was caring for me. She was/is extremely knowledgeable and well trained and obviously a huge asset to FHN. She has the skill to answer questions and explain procedures so they are easily understood. We shared many laughs and personal experiences all during the course of her performing her duties. Even on those days when her shift ran longer, she took the time to come in and tell my daughter and I goodbye. On her final day of caring for me, she made a special point and took the time to come in and give my wife and me a hug goodbye. She truly cared about my condition. I honestly made a list of each outstanding employee that I interacted with in some way. You should be proud, Makenzie is truly one of a kind and a "real keeper". Thanks so much for fostering this environment.
