When a patient was in need of support during a really hard time and ready to commit suicide, Peter was able to calm him down and talk to him into getting treatment. This was a patient who attempted to harm himself before and left AMA from the hospital earlier in the day, he called to notify staff he was going to harm himself. Peter did not hesitate to stay on the phone with the patient, reminding him that he is important, keeping the conversation until the police showed up at his home. Peter's therapeutic communication was so professional and soothing. This was not Peter's assignment and he could have easily hung up the phone. Peter is truly an Extraordinary Nurse who went above and beyond the expectation of an RN.
