My daughter had to stay a couple of days in the PICU after she had surgery on her airway. Maddie was super helpful and patient with me and my daughter. Although she's a nurse and super busy she still listened to me when I just needed to vent. Being in the PICU isn't easy, but nurses like Maddie make it much easier for us parents when you can trust a nurse with your child.
In March, A's home nurse broke both of her arms and ever since then I have just been so nervous when someone other than myself cares for my daughter. I had no worries with Maddie. She and one other nurse did wonderful with us. Giving us updates and talking to the doctors when I was concerned. I was confused about what was going on when A was scheduled to go back in the OR because different doctors were telling me different things; Maddie went above and beyond to figure out what was exactly going on. She also helped us get A's wheelchair fixed, even though it was really simple it just made me happy that she was willing to help. So we didn't have to travel to a different site to figure out the problem. She knew I was stressed and overwhelmed and to me, it seemed like she just wanted to help make things easier for me. That means so much to me.
A huge shout out and a big thank you to Maddie for being such an amazing nurse! If we ever have to come back, I hope we get you!
