Everyone who cared for me was amazing, but I am truly grateful for one nurse. She was a great comfort to me. I am 32 years old and have been a type I brittle diabetic since 2006 and it has been an extreme struggle for me over the years. Not for lack of trying, but I am frequently finding myself at West Penn. During my last visit, was when Kenzie walked into the room smiling, cheerful and very welcoming. I felt safe because I knew I would be well cared for. While I was very sick, she made me feel hopeful and even at one point made me forget how sick I truly was. It was a great feeling. How can I ever begin to thank her for the peace of mind she offered? She goes above and beyond and is not only skilled in her profession, but she truly cares about the people she is assigned to. I'm honored that I was one of her patients. Her lively spirit, energy, and positive thoughts were most encouraging. She was MY best medicine. Her kindness to me will never be forgotten and tucked safely in my heart. From this day forward, I am hopeful that I WILL win this battle because Kenzie inspired me! She rocks!
