I am writing to commend your employees at the Citrus Valley Hospice in West Covina. We recently signed up with hospice when my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. As you can imagine, this was a very difficult time in our lives and we really didn't know what to do. We were introduced to mom's case manager Kerry Lucas. She would be our angel for about the next 60 days. My mom loved her. She is an incredible person and was very loving and nurturing to not only my mom, but to my dad and me. My dad and mom were married for 55 years and I'm an only child. My dad was heartbroken during this time and I had to step in and be the anchor for my family. I must admit, I didn't have the best perception of hospice at the beginning of our journey, but I am a big believer and will be your biggest fan and recruiter going forward. Kerry, not only cared medically for my mom but held our hands and guided us gently through what could have been a horrible depressing experience. My parents live in West Covina and I live in Mission Viejo, about an hour away. It was difficult to always be there physically, but Kerry helped with that distant space keeping in constant communication with me. Kerry was very present all the time both when she would visit and through phone calls. I know my dad couldn't have managed without her. She is and will always have a special place in our hearts.
