Sarah has been an integral part of the intensive care unit here at Manatee Memorial Hospital since 2004. Her contagious smile and laugh brings positivity to her fellow nurses and patients. She is a "mother" to many of our critical care nurses who all look to her for guidance whether they are new or experienced. A part of the definition of a nurse is a patient advocate and Sarah is the prime example of this. Sarah doesn't just have patients on her shift…she has HER patients. Whenever she works, Sarah gives 100% of herself…her experience, her intelligence, her devotion and especially her heart.

"Sarah was my husband's nurse, she was very professional and caring; she gave me what I really needed; 3 things - her professional attitude, love and a hug. She also gave me a cup of tea. Thank you so much, you brighten my day. God Bless you."

The patient was so touched by the care that he received from Sarah that he actually came back after making a full recovery to visit with Sarah and thank her personally.
"I don't remember a lot about being in the ICU but I remember that when Sarah was my nurse, I felt safe and at home. She was incredibly nice to me and took really good care of me. The ICU is a very scary place and she made me feel safe and really did a good job controlling the pain."
Thank you, Sarah, for all you do for your patients and the ICU.
