My grandmother was very sick in the ICU and we had to make the hard decision to make her CMO. She was still alert at the time but had been unable to eat for a long time because she failed her swallow eval multiple times. When she finally was given the option to eat whatever she wanted, all she wanted was a steak dinner. Of course it was at night after the kitchen had closed, but Manuel went above and beyond and picked up a steak dinner for her from a nearby restaurant instead of the bland turkey sandwich that the hospital was offering her. It seems like a small thing but it was huge for her, and she loved it. It was her last meal.
Manuel is the definition of a great nurse - thank you for being so kind and continuing to treat my grandmother with dignity through to the very end.
