Every time Jill works, she goes the extra mile with her patients. She makes sure that appropriate care is being provided and that the patient is being taken care of. She not only follows through with physician orders, but she knows why they are being ordered and ensures that they get done.
Awhile back a patient was admitted with diverticulitis with which she had surgery and ended up being with us for a lengthy time. After being in the hospital for that significant amount of time she had decreased ability to perform self-care. On a day when Jill was her primary nurse, she provided a significant amount of 1 on 1 time with this patient. Jill took the time to provide the TLC needed to make the patient feel like a person and not just a patient. Jill went out of her way and asked her supervisor to gather additional supplies to tackle the patient's unmanageable hair. She also thought of this patient on her days off and was willing to come in if needed for her. Jill always puts her patients first at work. Many people are blessed to of had her as their nurse.
