Robert exemplifies professional nursing and serves both as a preceptor and charge nurse; he excels at both, and is sought after as a mentor. Robert truly shines as a charge nurse and in this role provides relief management for an incredibly busy unit with multiple demands for beds from the PACU, the emergency department and the surgical floors. These various areas call the charge phone as does the House Supervisor; an estimate of the number of calls received by the charge nurse is at least 30+ calls. The charge nurses and patient care coordinators are expected to work magic with making safe patient assignments; Robert does a stellar job of this juggling act. He does this with a very calm demeanor, which creates a level of equilibrium to the unit. He is clinically excellent and shares that knowledge readily with others.
