Walter was nominated for his exceptional care and working over to plan and help a couple celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and renew their wedding vows. Walter was the nurse for the gentleman on day shift in the ICU and learned that the couple never was able to renew their vows and celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary as the gentleman had been very ill in the ICU. At 0200 that night Walter helped the couple renew their vows and celebrate after much planning and preparation. The gentleman died a few short hours after the celebration at 0500, after being able to celebrate the love of his life and renew his wedding vows.
