Sara Kate is known for her caring and loving nature. She always goes above and beyond for her patients, their families, and her co-workers. You can tell by the way she builds relationships with our patients that she truly loves her job. When she realized our pediatric socks were too big for infants and toddlers, she went to the store to buy more socks that would fit and used a hot glue gun to create the non-skid bottom. She often uses her off days to shop for toys for the toy room or helping with charity events like Baby Palooza, March of Dimes, and Camp Chandler.
We often have pediatric patients with long-term disabilities including brain damage and cannot respond. This doesn't stop Sara Kate from speaking to and talking to them every time she enters and leaves their room even knowing they can't respond.
Not only does she go out of her way for the patients, she is equally giving to the staff. You can count on her for a helping hand, kind words, a surprise lunch or an ice cream social! She is truly a selfless, compassionate, and God loving person. Our Pediatric Unit is privileged to have her.
