On Christmas Day, my husband was admitted to the hospital after a bad fall. My husband has three types of cancer and is currently taking chemo and radiation. After coming to the hospital, my husband was delusional and dead weight for two women to move from the gurney to the bed. When this man with a big smile was asked to help these women, he was so very pleasant, happy to assist, what a way to spend Christmas with that radiant smile and bubbly personality! Then we found out this very dedicated and genuine nurse wasn't going to be my husband's nurse. Don't get me wrong, we had good nurses, yet Mr. James Alston was a breath of fresh air, a cheerleader on a day I was so upset. Well, two days later, we got this awesome nurse! Telling us he is going to take care of your husband and you; and laughing and cutting up. Folks, I can't express what a ray of sunshine he is to your patients and families. You guys have a man that truly loves his job and patients. For it wasn't just us, I passed by a room going downstairs and heard him treating another family the same way. Mr. Alston should be who you train all your staff to portray. He's a role model!
