Larry was a servant. He is the whole package plus. Larry seemed to find extra ways to serve just the daily needs like earplugs when I had noisy roommates or calling the Chaplain or ordering special things from the kitchen, or talking to me about compression hose when I had swelling in my legs and feet, even showing me online the type of socks to look for.
Larry served well the physical needs, but also served well the mental and emotional needs. He would try to be present whenever a doctor was in the room giving their evaluations and treatment options. Then Larry would follow up with questioning if my wife and I understand and always answered our questions.
Larry would occasionally stop in, sit down and ask "how are you doing?" (How are you really doing?) Then he would talk about my emotional feelings. There is one event that really touches my heart. I had 3 colposcopies in 3 days and the 4th day an angiogram. Larry's shift ended at 7:30 and after one of my procedures Larry was waiting at the door for me, which was after his shift.
Larry is a very kind, considerate, dedicated, patient, and compassionate person. His care contributed to my healing and well-being. I really appreciate him.
