I would like to commend the actions of an ER nurse, who was my Mom's nurse in the Emergency Department, Ryan Childs. My Mom had a possible blood clot in her leg, five days post-surgery.

Ryan took over after our other nurse was needed elsewhere. Ryan was very personable and ready to help. When he heard us sharing a concern with the medical student, acting as a liaison for the Doctor, he on his own initiative, went and gathered the information we needed.

I don't spend a lot of time in the ER, however, I have been there from time-to-time with my various special needs foster children. I wanted to make an effort to bring this wonderful nurse to your attention.

Ryan worked in Sheldon as an RN in the nursing home prior to coming to the ED. Ryan has received a lot of positive feedback from patients and families - he has been quoted as "amazing, polite, informative, helpful, satisfies , impressive and they love the "Boston accent". Ryan also had an EMT student follow him that stated he had the best rotation ever in the Emergency Department. Ryan is well liked by staff and can be extremely funny and that can help make difficult situations much better to deal with.
