John always goes above and beyond for all his patients, but this time, he went above and beyond for his patient's seven-year-old son.

The patient had been with us for months, a young man who was very anxious about how his young son was responding to him and his hospitalization. John spent a lot of time preparing this young boy for what could be extremely overwhelming circumstances for a young person

John was amazing with this young boy, calling food services for ice cream, chocolate milk and cookies. He then went to PICU and got coloring books, crayons and transformers for him to play with. John took the time to make a scary time more tolerable. He patiently explained all of the equipment attached to his father that was now a part of everyday life with calmness and imagination.

He is such a wonderful nurse, we feel blessed to work with him.
