Kim Rogers is a total nurse; compassionate, kind, thoughtful, and caring with excellent clinical skills. She is able to take the fear of the unknown from her patients with detailed explanations of each step they will take toward recovery. In the short time she has been in the Home Health department, Kim has never said that is not my job or who should I call to do this task? She does it all. She looks at the whole patient. She addresses all of their needs.

I walked into her office the other day and she was helping a patient of ours who has very limited financial resources. She had already taken care of the physical needs (nursing assessment, reviewing her meds, making sure her pain was controlled, etc.) but she went a step further. In talking to the patient, she learned that the patient was having difficulty paying for her utilities and this was worrisome for her. Kim made phone calls to the utility company and helped the patient to arrange for assistance with her bills. To hear her explain to the patient the process and having the patience to wait for an elderly woman to find a pen and paper and to have to repeat herself over and over again shows her genuine caring.

She is a positive role model and makes such a difference. Kim is very much a "daisy" in our patients' lives and we love her!
