Felicia recently took care of my family member and did an outstanding job. My family will never forget her and the care she gave. My sister-in-law's father was recently admitted to Unit 43 for pneumonia. He had been diagnosed with cancer in his neck and had been receiving a combination of chemotherapy and radiation. Once my sister-in-law found out her father was admitted with pneumonia, she started questioning whether or not they should get a second opinion. I reassured my sister-in-law that Good Samaritan Hospital is where he needs to be. I worked his first day of admission when Felicia was assigned to him. The wife recognized her, she taught Felicia math in high school. They were happy to have a familiar face as a nurse.

That night when I got home, my sister-in-law called me and asked to explain a Rapid Response. Her father got a fever over 103 and wasn't "looking" good. Felicia called the Rapid Response Team. He was transferred to Unit 41. The next day I worked, I stopped in to visit with the patient and his wife. They had nothing but good things to say about Felicia and her quick response in care and judgment. The wife said she remembered Felicia as a student and always knew she would do something good, "and now she saved my husband". The wife also told me that Felicia stayed with them well over her shift to make sure they were okay. She said, "to think she stayed with us over her shift when she could have been home with her family. We will never forget what she did for us".

My sister-in-law, who is scared and doesn't fully understand her father's diagnosis, is happy with his care and knows he belongs at Good Samaritan Hospital. She told me she can't believe she was going to talk to her dad about receiving care at another hospital. Thank you, Felicia, for everything you did, not only for my family but also for Good Samaritan Hospital.
