At 2:00 am Mary Anne appeared in my room to draw blood from my PIC line. I had surgery the day before to drain an abscess in my right groin, the PIC was occluded. I was afraid I would lose my lifeline after over a year of therapy. She persisted from 2:00 am to 4:45 am everything she could think of to draw blood and re-open the PIC line. She was compassionate, reassuring, and worked with a sense of urgency. She was not even working on my floor, but took responsibility. City of Hope is fortunate to have this dedicated nurse, Mary Anne Marquez. I am forever grateful.
