Jen Hiner has been at HMC since she was a Nurse Tech (over 20 years). I was fortunate to work under her when I was an HA and she constantly extended herself to make sure the ancillary staff were taken care of and appreciated. As a new grad, she trained me on BICU/PICU and has given me some of the best advice I still keep close to heart. Jen's primary goal is to do the best she can while taking care of her patients and make sure she can leave work with a "clear conscience" at the end of her day. She is probably one of the most honest and hardworking RNs I have ever known. She is the first to volunteer to help her co-workers, the first to offer to help the HAs and always make a new nurse feel supported. She goes above and beyond with her patients to make sure they are bathed even with a new braid or hair style. She is incredibly knowledgeable, but keeps a humble perspective and openly admits when she learns something new which she is also happy to teach to other staff. Jen keeps a positive attitude, gets her patients to laugh, and inspires her team to work harder. She is the ultimate example of a role model here at HMC.
