My mother who was 95 years old had been diagnosed at Holy Name Medical Center in June with rectal cancer. She was hospitalized for 8 days and was taken care of by many wonderful staff nurses and PCTs but Isabel stood out. After 4 months of care at the Cancer Center, observation care and multiple ED visits, my mother became septic and once again was admitted via the ED-ICU-6 Marian. Isabel once again nursed my mother and our whole family through the most difficult time until my mother passed. As a previous CNO, I have never experienced the kind of professional compassionate care along with a warm loving smile that Isabel provided. She was always so engaging. Isabel reassured us that our mother was being treated with dignity and respect. In June when my mother was fairly well, Isabel helped my mother and my family cope with the devastating diagnosis. Now in October, she reassured us and became someone we can rely on for explaining her palliative care, what to expect, what was the norm and she relieved out anxieties.
