Cindy is a wonderful advocate for her patients. Upon speaking with patients and family, Cindy noticed no solid discharge plans for two patients. Both patients are from out of town. Cindy called me on Sunday and informed me of this. I spoke with the patients and families and faxed referrals out. When I followed up with Cindy the next week, both patients had been discharged and their families were happy and thankful. Cindy focused on patients' needs, and their length of stay. Kudos.

Cindy went above and beyond with her peers in this situation. When leaving on Sunday, she recognized that it was a "young crew" working that night. Prior to going to sleep (at 11:30 at night) she called the unit and spoke with the nurses to see if they were okay or needed any assistance. She "walked" one of her peers through the thought process for something going on with one of her patients. The next morning she called the Charge Nurse and offered to come in early to help her get the next shift paperwork ready. The Charge stated she was okay, but thankful for the offer. Cindy's kindness and big heart are often noted and appreciated by all.
