Muffie (Mary Clark) was taking care of a SDR (selective dorsal rhizotomy) patient. This patient had many complaints of pain and did not want to get out of bed and come to physical therapy. Muffie made sure to give this patient pain meds and took it upon herself to make sure this patient transferred out of bed to her wheelchair to come down for physical therapy (typically the parents are asked to transfer and bring the SDR patients down to therapy). I called Muffie after PT and she was able to give suggestions for different meds for the pm physical therapy treatment.
Muffie gave this patient the extra care and attention she needed showing lots of respect and care and compassion. She was a team player by making sure this patient made it to therapy and didn't take the easy way out and let someone else do it.
