I wish to express thanks to the entire NICU team but Kathy was a shining star for us. She was our nurse the first time I held my son on day 4. She made me feel very comfortable with such a delicate little baby, showed me how to sit, where to support him and how to slip him right inside my shirt against my skin. My heart was pounding with anxiety and fear but she made it easier, "you got this girl, he's eating great," is what she said to keep me positive.
Kathy always had a great attitude and was so helpful, even on the busiest of days. She carries confidence in her personality and job that makes you feel at ease that your baby is in good hands. Even on days when Kathy was not assigned to him, she would still stop by his bedside to see us, say hello and check-in. Overall just a friendly and caring person!
Kathy is one of the key contributors that made our 71 days in the NICU such a great experience. She is an invaluable part of the DMC NICU team and a special person to our family.
