Often times I encounter a caregiver who leaves an impression in my life and Nurse Sigrid has done as such performing her duties with charisma, dignity, thoroughness and compassion as she maintained an esprit de corps ("feeling of pride").
My wife and I would like to take the time to recognize the services rendered by Nurse Sigrid Padios. It was like night and day when she walked into the room. Her smile was evident as she started to organize the room for her shift. She took the time to organize the equipment that was attached to my son, i.e. the intravenous line and the oxygen lines. She performed simple housekeeping of our personal items as our son required close attention. It was evident that she wanted to be there. Nurse Sigrid carried out her responsibilities with great optimism assuring us that all would be well.
Nurse Sigrid made us feel as though we were part of a family. The decency she displayed towards us was unparalleled and the pride that she has in her job was unmatched. She is very assertive and resourceful. For example, she provided my wife with a pull out chair that was fully functional, wash cloths, blankets and even made the crib comfortable as possible for my son, leaving us nothing to do except attend to our son.
Her attention to detail is impeccable. Through all of the organized chaos, she was very much in control of the environment. She made sure that she answered every question that we had and if she didn't know the answer, she made good on her promise to find out. Sigrid went above and beyond her call of duty.
Sigrid's benevolence and kind-heartedness was evident. Sigrid made sure to let us know her whereabouts as she prepared for the arrival of her second patient of the night. Sigrid reassured her presence by reminding my wife that if she needed anything, she could simply call for her. That is the epitome of a great nurse.
Sigrid takes great pride in her duties as a nurse and is a reflection of the team and organization she represents.
