Megan provides excellent patient care and has great assessment skills. She has the ability to recognize potential danger signs and remains calm during stressful situations. She is very helpful and polite and treats patients and visitors with kindness and respect. She takes pride in contributing to the success of her department and the hospital and goes beyond the call of duty and epitomizes the kind of character and compassion Lodi Memorial Hospital celebrates.

On a night when the ER was slow, the floors were very busy and short staffed. Megan volunteered to go upstairs and work the floor to help out. They truly appreciated the help and it really made a difference.
***
While in Med Surg, there was a no-show and Megan offered to work the extra shift. Without disclosing she had a planned trip already scheduled with her family for Disneyland, she was willing to delay it and support the hospital. It turned out Med Surg was able to find someone to work, but only later found out about Megan's planned trip. This showed concern for her co-workers beyond the call of duty.
***
The way Megan talks to her patients, her demeanor, and sympathetic voice just makes you know she is truly caring and is actually listening to the problem without judgment or urgency to move on to the next room.
***
The reason I'm so excited for Megan and what makes her the perfect and most deserving nurse to receive the DAISY Award is going over and above the call of duty. She brought a sense of comfort to a grieving family - all thanks to a great nurse who went out of her way to help a lost husband who didn't have any clue how to handle a situation or help his wife in a state of mourning and loss. Megan, you are a wonderful nurse and I cannot thank you enough.
