Our Maryland high school choirs were competing in Orlando and had stopped over in Jacksonville for the night. In the morning one of our students fell ill and we took her to the ER at BMC - Beaches. The care she received was extraordinary. She was not with family -- only chaperones at first -- but the nurses and doctors were all very compassionate and showed her nothing but care and concern. One of the nurses that day was especially exceptional, Jennifer Rosenblum.
Jennifer stayed with her throughout her day, staying late to make sure she made it out of surgery safely. Jennifer and many of the other nurses even talked to her about what pieces the choirs would sing in the competition and which were her favorites to help distract her during some of the necessary medical tests. Jennifer was very concerned for her emotional health, especially when the severity of the surgery was going to impact her future life choices when it came to having children. Jennifer even returned the next day to the hospital, on her day off, to visit with her and to meet her family from Maryland. She was amazing and should be commended for her excellent service to her patients.
You will be pleased to know that the patient came home to Maryland and is recovering very nicely from her surgery. To top it off, the Bowie High School choirs took top honors (Best in Class and Gold and Silver rankings) at the Orlando Festival Disney Competition!

We especially want to thank Jennifer Rosenblum and the doctors for all that they did to help treat a young lady who needed immediate assistance in your hospital hundreds of miles from home.
