Rebekah Blitch is a strong telemetry nurse, a very strong patient advocate, a charge nurse and an excellent preceptor. Rebekah has a unique skill with providing education and training to new staff members, visiting nurses, and students. She is well respected by her fellow coworkers and has been recognized by many nursing leaders as a wonderful resource for others throughout the facility by continuously contributing to the team concept.
During leader rounding, a patient expressed her extreme gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Rebekah. The patient stated Rebekah went above and beyond her call of duty when she offered to take the patient's daughter's contact information in Indiana and update her of the patient status during and after her surgery. The patient was most impressed because Rebekah was no longer her nurse and she still assisted with her care and kept her daughter well informed of patient's condition. Patient stated said her daughter was relieved to hear from Rebekah and find out the surgery went well since she was unable to travel to Arizona to be with her mother. The patient went on to say that while all of the care at St. Luke's was excellent, the care and compassion demonstrated by Rebekah was exceptional!
