When a patient with terminal cancer decided to stop all treatments, the patient had two requests before being discharged from the hospital:
1. To say goodbye to the chemotherapy nurses in Oncology
2. To have nonhospital food
Monica Myher made these requests possible. She went above and beyond her 12-hour shift to ensure that the patient's wishes were fulfilled. She transported the patient to Oncology to say his goodbyes and had food delivered to the hospital for the patient.
"The best part about my job is getting to know the patients and their stories. Every one of them is unique and important."
