Katrina Wilkins has been with JPS Health Network nearly 16 years and is well known for her warmth, caring attitude and compassion. She is highly respected by her peers and an excellent role model for others on the unit, including acting as a nursing school student mentor.
One of the night techs lost her mother - Katrina visited the co-worker prior to her mom's passing at the hospice center and later attended the funeral, and assessed the need for bringing her food and/or help where needed.
Sewing is one of her hobbies. We were always running out of bili-bed covers and no one knew who made them or where they got the pattern from. Katrina took an old bili-bed cover home with her and made a pattern out of a newspaper and then made us extra bili-bed covers so the unit could have a supply that is readily available. She then made another pattern to give to our Volunteers with the idea that they could assist us with making more covers.
