Aimee was nominated by a social worker who observed Aimee's compassionate care as she worked with a patient that was alone and very ill. Aimee offered the patient comfort and sat with him as he passed. "She is a nurse that cares for her patients as individuals and is trying to meet all of their needs," Andrea said, "I was touched to see Aimee with this patient and feel she is an example to others."
Aimee is described by her peers as an asset to the critical care team and as a compassionate and caring team player. She focuses not only on delivering high quality care to all of her patients and families but also on the patient and family's perception of their care. Aimee's director describes her as compassionate and strong-willed and says she is excellent at team building and is a strong patient advocate.
Because of Aimee's compassionate and caring efforts, her patients experience a level of care that exemplifies the impact nurses have in creating an environment where patients and families feel at home.
