I am a former patient of the labor and delivery unit. While residing in that unit, I met the most astounding nurse. From the night I met Brandi Wethington, she treated me as a person with a long road ahead of herself, but not an impossible road. Brandi not only comforted me with her wide range of knowledge, but she was also extremely honest and nurturing. For me, a nurse is not just someone who can monitor your vitals and draw blood for labs. A nurse is your comfort and confidence, sometimes at the most difficult and painful times of your life.
I must have asked Brandi about a million questions, and she answered every single one without hesitation or attitude. Whenever she gave me information, she always sought affirmation from a doctor. I truly felt as though I mattered, and so did my need to make a very grim decision. Although my stay ended in a headache because of my situation, Brandi was a courageous and fierce nurse. She fought for me every step of the way and I could not have done it without her. Words don't describe how grateful I am for the light she provided amid all my darkness.
Every single patent that walks through the doors deserves an experience with their nurse as I did. My life would not be the same without Brandi. I thank you form the bottom of my heart, Brandi. You will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory, and you gave me the only memories of my baby girl that I will ever get, and never forget. Thank you!
