We had a patient in a room on 4S that lives at a SNF and shares a semi-private room there with his father. That particular day his father was also a patient in a room on 6N and he was actively dying. The family, who was with their father during his final stages, called and asked if there was any way his son could be brought to his father's room. It is no surprise that Fallon was more than happy to help this family during this special circumstance.
Fallon took the time to get the patient, who is only remotely ambulatory, up to a w/c and take him to 6N herself. She also stayed there with him so she would be immediately available if anything was needed. This truly compassionate nurse made it possible for the patient's son to tell his father, roommate and friend good bye.
This was such an extraordinary act of kindness, care and compassion during a time when it was needed most.
