Often times as soon as patients check in the unit, they are looking for Dana and requesting her to be their attending nurse. Dana is genuine in her kindness, her smile, her caring and her availability to her patients. During rounds, I talked to 5 patients and one of the questions I asked was 'Is there anyone in particular that impressed you during your stay in CTRC?' Three patients named Dana. They said the comforts given by Dana were very soothing and superb. Many of them are scared of the term 'clinical trial' and Dana patiently spends a tremendous amount of time explaining in detail about clinical trials and draws out timelines for treatments.

Today a regular CTRC patient came in for treatment with increased abdominal ascites and many skin break downs. I saw Dana carefully and patiently clear out each lesion, dress them properly and instruct the patient how to take care of them at home. Sometimes, Dana skips her lunch breaks and goes up to the inpatient units to visit patients she met in CTRC. Those patients appreciate Dana's visits and they told me how Dana comforts them; her kindness is unbeatable.
