Carolyn has been a nurse for 1 year now. She is always very eager to learn and trying to do the best she can. One story that I can recall when she went above and beyond was about a patient she took care of who had some mental disabilities. While the patient and his family were in the hospital, Carolyn took time to not only provide excellent care but to also get to know them personally. She learned that the patient lived alone, that his family would check on him and also where they lived. She also found out many other things about the patient and his family. Eventually, the patient was discharged from the hospital. One evening after work, Carolyn was on her way to pick her son up from daycare. As she was driving, she passed the patient's house. Carolyn noticed that the patient was outside walking around his property and was concerned for his safety. She decided to drive to the family members' house to let them know what she had seen. They too were concerned and went to check on their loved one. The patient ended up being fine, but it shows that Carolyn is a very devoted and caring nurse. Her compassion and desire to serve others doesn't stop at the time clock. Thank you, Carolyn!
