I have frequently had the pleasure, and yes I say pleasure of having Lori as our nurse. Seems crazy to say, when almost all of these times it's been in the ER - a very stressful time. Lori treated my son like he was her own, she was tough with him when needed because, let's be honest, he's stubborn and she held his hand and calmed his fears when his anxiety was getting the best of him before test or needles. She even went out of her way to get her phone and download a game he liked in order to successfully start an IV on him. I have only ever met one other nurse like Lori, and that is because my mom is a nurse. So it sets the bar pretty high for me.
Lori is so knowledgeable and helpful, in her care you feel well taken care of and that you are getting the best treatment. She explained all the complex things the doctors said when I didn't understand or know what to ask. I was scared for my son and she made sure I was comforted and cared for as well. She had someone walk me to get coffee and a much needed break after hours of no sleep, and it may seem like a small gesture but she also gave me a tooth brush to freshen up after being there so long. I was basically there for her entire shift.
I can tell you there is no one like Lori in your hospital - I have been a patient way too many times, whether in the ER for myself, as a patient and as a visitor and no other nurse in Chester County even comes close. Lori Plans deserves to be recognized for her dedication to patients!
