Mary Lopez is one of the most caring and compassionate nurses I have every known. She treats every patient with dignity and respect. She always honors their faith, instills them with hope, and brightens their day.

Mary creates an environment that makes her patients feel safe, important, and cared for. She never passes judgment or prejudice while caring for her patients. She is always willing to go the extra mile to help patients in need.

For example, one of our long time ostomy support group members recently came to our outpatient clinic and Mary was the nurse that evaluated her. Mary could tell that this lady's mental function had changed and she was having trouble remembering Mary's instructions. The patient became tearful and expressed her concern that she could not do what Mary had shown her. Mary found out that she lives close to this lady, so Mary now goes to visit this lady at home once a week to help her with her ostomy appliance change. Mary's visits also provide company for this lady since the recent death of her husband.
