With my conflicting schedule, I was waiting several weeks to attend Diabetes education classes. I've had diabetes for over twenty five years and have never had any formal education about nutrition so controlling it has always been a struggle for me. For the last two years, my diabetes was out of control. My grandma died from complications from her diabetes and I was scared I was heading for the same fate. Janis was always supportive and happy to answer all my questions for the several weeks before the class started or whenever I would see her. With the help and education she has given to me and my husband, I have gotten my diabetes under control for the first time in years. I came back from my checkup with my doctor and could not wait to tell her how good my test results were. I could not have done it without her help, support and knowledge. I believe Janis helped save my life and want her to get the recognition she deserves for what she does every day for people.
