Saint Joseph is an excellent hospital and consistently gives excellent care. Given this standard, Matthew provided even better care. He checked on me so often that I thought he was the nurse's assistant until I found that Yvonne, the nurse's assistant, was checking my blood sugar for lunch.

An example of his excellence is with my medication. He went over each tablet slowly enough to allow me to go over them in my own mind and compare them to my normal list. Then some of my prescriptions were moved on request. He even took the time to explain to me how my fast acting insulin shot was calculated, given my first taking medication while in the hospital. This will be useful until I see my regular doctor to get permission to restart my other medication.
