Carol was exceptional in all ways with my care after my surgery. Very caring, very professional. My mother works at a hospital. This lady should be cloned and used in all areas of the hospital. The stay was exceptional by all-but most of all, Carol. Carol will be in our memories as the best nurse I have ever had.
...
Carol is a very compassionate nurse who strives to make a difference for each patient that she cares for after their surgery. Recently, a young college student called and noted that he "had" to stop by the hospital to "thank the wonderful nurse who cared for him after his surgery".
He noted that many individuals were very kind and helpful, but there was the ONE NURSE who cared for him and his wife beyond their expectations and they just needed to thank her in person. He explained that he was recently diagnosed with cancer and needed surgery. He stated that he and his wife were very scared. He also noted that he and his wife were from another country and did not have any experience with healthcare in the USA, nor did they have family with them. He explained that Carol was very caring and provided him and his wife with extra support and assurance as they were trying to accept this new diagnosis and the concerns for additional treatments.
Later that day, the patient and his wife stopped by the hospital. Carol was informed that a patient had stopped by to see her. Her expression was "what"? She stopped her task and quickly recognized the young man and his wife. They had a lovely bouquet of flowers for Carol and both proceeded to embrace her with hugs of thanks. The tears started to flow by all. The patient and his wife explained to the staff that they just had to stop by and thank Carol for helping them through this difficult time. He informed Carol that his cancer was caught early and the prognosis was very positive.
This story is one of many that illustrate Carol's compassion and care for her patients!
