We had a code on our unit, which for obvious reasons takes a lot of collaboration. A few minutes into it, Jessica checked on the other patient in the room because we were not able to get him out of the room. She first apologized and asked if he was okay. He said he was, but Jessica quickly noted that was not the case. As the patient started to cry, Jessica sat down and stayed with him until well after the code ended. The patient and his wife were very appreciative. Jessica's presence and compassion helped support this couple during a horrible situation. I found out about this situation while rounding. The patient started crying again as the family shared their appreciation for Jessica's kindness.

Jessica went out of her way to help a patient in need that had an appointment at the burn clinic that day. The patient had an accident in the Apple Street bathroom and needed assistance getting cleaned up. Jessica went above and beyond to get the patient new underwear, pants and socks. She assisted the patient in getting cleaned up. After the patient was more comfortable, Jessica wheeled the patient to her appointment and explained to the burn unit why the patient was late.

Jessica is an extraordinary nurse; always willing to help others. She is a great team player and someone I am proud to say I work with.
