My husband was a patient here( MMC) and sent to the main hospital. The day he was leaving, we were told of my grandson's birth at this same hospital. The doctors were uncertain of my husband's survival during the surgery needed, so we didn't know what to expect. The nurse, Tee Thompson, was told and she said let's see what we can do. She helped coordinate with the nursery and staff for my husband to be escorted down to see his first grandson and we only had 5 minutes to get him down and back for the ambulance to take him to the other hospital. Tee involved the case worker, baby staff, and my husband and family. He was so happy to see the baby. When we returned to the floor, the nurse was waiting with paramedics as she promised.

She smiled and said to me, "thank you for allowing me to care for your husband". I felt like thank God for such a nice person. I returned to the floor with a card and heard about the DAISY Award from staff and I had to fill out this form in order to say thank you to this nurse. Her name was Tee. I hope to see her one day again but under different reasons. She smiles a lot and it makes you feel secure but she is very compassionate. From my family to her, thank you!
